A graduate of Shannon Technological University: Midlands Midwest won first prize at the 2021 Digital Media Awards.
Orla Dunworth, MSc Digital Marketing graduate, was named Digital Student of the Year at the awards ceremony.
Two other alumni from the Marketing, Enterprise and Digital Communications department, Linda Galvin and Sarah Sweeney, were also shortlisted for the prestigious award.
Congratulating the three TUS alumni, Dean of the College of Business and Humanities Donatcha McNamara said: “This award honors outstanding students who understand and can demonstrate the role that digital media plays in a modern company or brand.
When applying for the awards, students submitted portions of their digital consulting projects from their Masters in Digital Marketing in the areas of social media, e-business, and web design.
The Digital Media Awards, running for 18 years, are Ireland’s most prestigious digital awards.
“They recognize creativity and innovation across multiple domains for an ever-evolving sector that includes digital content creation, advertising and marketing, mobile media, social networking, app development, and web design and development.”
Head of Marketing, Enterprise and Digital Communications at TUS Dr. James Griffin praised the students and staff who helped them learn and excel in their chosen field.
“Now in its third year, the Master of Science in Digital Marketing at TUS continues to go from strength to strength in attracting high caliber students from a wide range of disciplines who have gone on to launch successful digital careers,” he said.
